A Note from Our Interim Superintendent, Mr. Vito DeFrisco...
Principal's Coffee: February 26th at 8:00 am!
We are hoping you would consider attending the third of four Principal's Coffee of the year. This provides you an opportunity to meet other parents, and talk with the Principal directly, all in the hopes of making Marian a stand-out from other high schools; providing the highest academics, spiritual guidance, and social/emotional support possible to our students.
College Information Night
WHEN: Thursday, February 28th from 6:30-9:00 PM (Check in begins at 6:00 PM, Program begins at 6:30 PM)
WHERE: Marian Central Catholic Theatre
WHAT: An opportunity to learn about starting a college search, financial aid, and choosing a major. Students and families will also attend a question and answer session about college admission with a panel of college admission officers.
Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors and their parents/guardians are invited to attend this program. We strongly encourage juniors and their parents/guardians to attend College Information Night. We’ve put together a comprehensive program we’re confident will provide students and their families with insight into some of the most complicated and confusing parts of the college search.
We ask that those planning to attend this program please register online at: https://goo.gl/forms/pgZWJF5z8ye4jaQg1.
Please direct any questions about College Information Night to Mr. Stamatakos (jstamatakos@marian.com) or Mrs. Diamond (guidance@marian.com).
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, February 28th!
Sincerely,
The Marian Central Catholic Guidance Staff

A NOTE ABOUT ADDING LUNCH MONEY...
A reminder to all parents and students that lunch money should be turned in to the school office BEFORE school starts in the morning - these funds will be on the student account by lunch time. Any funds received after school starts are added as time permits -- last minute additions can not be guaranteed on the account in time for student's lunch period. Please monitor your student's lunch account and allow 24 hours for funds to be added from Mealtime. We ask that payments be at least $20. Thank you!

We have a limited supply of red Marian Central laptop sleeves available for purchase.
The sleeves are the perfect size for the laptops our students are currently using.
Each sleeve is $10 each and can be purchased in the school office.
Available while supplies last.
A NOTE ABOUT 3RD QUARTER EXAMS! PLEASE READ!
Due to the multiple snow days and weather-related late-starts, we have empowered our teachers to determine if they will be ready to administer an exam during the designated Quarter 3 exam times (March 7-8). Many teachers will be administering Quarter 3 exams as scheduled; others, however, will use that week to continue with their instruction, deferring assessment until the unit objectives are met. We do this to uphold the primary objective of assessment: to check for mastery of the content. If instructors believe, due to the weather-related interruptions, that they need more time prior to proper assessment, then we fully support that professional decision. Quarter 3 will end on March 8th. All teachers will share quarter-end plans with their students within the next two weeks.

It's Time to Collect SENIOR BABY PHOTOS for the Yearbook!
Dear Marian Senior Family,
It is the time of the year where the yearbook, The Memorare, is collecting baby photos of the Senior class. Photos should be appropriate and tend to be around ages 6 months-2 years. We ask that these photos be clear and scannable.
Senior students will be turning in their baby photos to their English teacher. We will return these photos in the same condition, we just ask that the following information is provided on the back of the photo:
Student’s printed FULL name
English Teacher’s Name & Class Period
*STUDENT’S PARENTS MAY CHOOSE TO EMAIL THE IMAGES AS WELL! THEY NEED TO EMAIL THE JPEG IMAGE TO “kgallagher@marian.com” AND HAS TO IDENTIFY THEIR STUDENT WITH FIRST AND LAST NAME! MUST BE IN JPEG FORMAT!!!
If your student(s) chooses not to submit a photo, he or she will have no smaller photo next to their official portrait. The space will simply be left blank. To guarantee every Senior has a photo, we ask that students bring their photos in NO LATER than Thursday, March 14th, 2018. We will return the photos once they have been successfully scanned into our system.
Should you have any questions, please contact Miss Gallagher (kgallagher@marian.com). We look forward in creating a lifetime of memories for the Class of 2019!
Sincerely, The 2018-2019 Memorare Editors and Staff
